About Dr. Sami
Dr. Nilofar Sami, Ph.D
I have 10 years of experience working in direct mental health settings and 15 years of experience working in research programs focused on children and adolescents. I obtained my doctorate degree in clinical-community psychology from U.C. Berkeley and completed my pre-doctoral and post-doctoral training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
In addition to working with children and families from ethnically diverse backgrounds, I provide consultation to parents and conduct parenting workshops. I also lead professional development workshops for mental health service providers as well as elementary and secondary school teachers and supervise graduate level interns. I have taught psychology courses at several universities in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I have lived in the East Bay for the past 30 years and I have two elementary school-aged children. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, visiting parks with my family, and gardening.
